Both the research system and the Student Lab System from BIOPAC have a very long service life in practice. Although worn cables, electrodes and other things may need to be replaced and software upgraded, often the measurement systems have been in the lab longer than many employees. Those who were involved from the beginning and purchased and learned the system may have changed positions or retired.

The BIOPAC system is easy to use - which is its strength, but we know that there is still a threshold when you are new to a lab and have to take over and run existing equipment.

You have probably noticed that Microsoft will end support and security upgrades for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025. Many IT departments will then insist on upgrading to Windows 11, which means that you need to take inventory of which software will continue to work after the upgrade, and which must be updated in connection with the change of operating system.

The versions of AcqKnowledge and Biopac Student Lab officially tested by BIOPAC with Windows 11 are AcqKnowledge 5.0.8+ and Biopac Student Lab 4.1.7+. If you have older versions, the recommendation is to upgrade to AcqKnowledge 6 to prevent disruptions in data collection and analyses.

To facilitate funding for upgrades, we offer a 10% discount on all version upgrades to AcqKnowledge 6 as well as additional license options. The discount only applies to orders placed during 2025. Biopac Student Lab upgrades are also covered by the discount!
 
Even if you have old software, the measuring systems are often not "old" at all, but if you just upgrade the software, you will be able to use and expand the MP150/MP160/MP200 systems for a long time to come.

Latest AcqKnowledge versions also offers more possibilities as options! 
- Support for Lab Streaming Layer to get data from other devices!
- Workflow – automatic data processing via GUI instead of coding
